For students enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with a high school grade point average of 3.5 having had participation in 4-H and/or Future Farmers of America, pursing a degree in agronomy, seed science, horticulture, insect science, agricultural systems technology, agricultural studies, microbiology, global resource systems, genetics, food science, environmental science, culinary science, biology, agricultural biochemistry, agricultural business, or public service and administration.

For a jr. or sr., 3.00 GPA and demonstrated leadership.

Must have 2.5 GPA, evidence of strong interest in sustainable agriculture, possess potential and promise for career in research, teaching, practice, public policy, economics or promotion of the practice of sustainable agriculture

for a soph., jr., or sr. in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences from Woodbury County or the surrounding area. Selection is based on high academic achievement, need and activities. Provided by the Cedric L. Hall Memorial Scholarship Fund. Submission of financial need form (FAFSA) to ISU Financial Aid Office required.

For female students enrolled in College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (excluding the pre-veterinary programs) who demonstrate enthusiasm toward their studies and show an active interest in departmental activities and a career interest in production agriculture.

For students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences who are active in ISU's Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity with a 2.5 GPA or greater and demonstrated involvement with clubs and activities.

For students enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences pursuing a crop-related or seed science major who are residents of Iowa.

for a senior in Animal/Dairy Science, Agronomy, Ag business, or Ag Studies, 2.75 GPA and planning a career in a farming operation.

for a sophomore, junior, or senior in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

For students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences majoring in forestry, animal ecology, biology, genetics, and environmental science. Second preference from counties of Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Chickasaw, Bremer, Black Hawk, Grundy, Hardin or Franklin. Preference to students who plan to return to work or farm in Butler County after graduation.

For a student enrolled in College of Agriculture and Life Sciences pursuing career in production agriculture.

for sophomores, juniors, and seniors enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 who are members of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity

Must be a resident of Iowa with a permanent residence in a rural community of less than 15,000 people. Must have maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

The Edgar Timm Endowed Memorial Scholarship was endowed by family and friends of Edgar Timm, who was Iowa State University's first Rhodes Scholar.  Edgar Timm received his B.S. in chemical technology in 1936 from ISU and was appointed as full-time research assistant on a Rockefeller Foundation project.

Jere Wise was raised on a 160 acre farm near Newton, Iowa. He majored in Agronomy and credits a portion of his success to college and fraternity activities. Jere was a member of FarmHouse Fraternity, a member of Cardinal Key and was Class President. His career started with the plant food industry and later moved to crop protection chemicals. He acquired Kalo, Inc. a manufacturer of agricultural and turf specialties (www.kalo.com). Jere and Sue Wise now reside in Naples FL. They created this scholarship to help young people have an opportunity to get an education and participate fully in leadership-related activities while in college. They intend to provide scholarships for deserving US citizens who are enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University and fit the criteria as defined. This scholarship is entirely funded from the savings of Jere and Sue Wise, with the hope and expectation that in the future the recipient will do the same for deserving students.  Criteria:  in CALS who are juniors and seniors, U.S. citizens, demonstrated leadership, top 25% (3.0-3.5) of class, or top 33% if have potential and demonstrated financial need, majoring in plant-related sciences such as: ag business with focus in entrepreneurship/marketing, agronomy including focus in climatology/irrigation, entomology, ag systems engineering, genetics with plant focus, food science with focus in safety, forestry, horticulture including focus in golf course-turf management/landscaping; preference to Veterans  (Please file FAFSA between Oct. 1 and Dec. 1 to be considered.)

The Colvin Scholarship Foundation and Certified Angus Beef LLC are seeking applicants for its scholarships. All qualified college juniors and seniors are encouraged to apply. A graduate level scholarship is also available.

The scholarship, initiated by Roger and Connie Underwood in recognition of Dr. Bob Jolly's dedications, unselfish leadership and stewardship of the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Program, provides an award to a College of Agriculture and Life Sciences student who demonstrates a commitment to and aptitude for entrepreneurship.

The $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a recipient at a junior or senior standing and pursuing a major offered by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at time of application. The recipient will demonstrate an interest/aptitude for entrepreneurship, as determined by the director. Examples include but are not limited to: participation in the programs of the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Initiative; experience starting a business or non-profit organization; internship with an entrepreneurial business; relevant course work; etc.

The National Corn Growers Association and BASF Corporation have teamed up to provide a new scholarship for ag students.

The NCGA Academic Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship Program awards five (5) $1,000 one-year scholarships to deserving, qualified second-year undergraduate students (or later) or graduate students enrolled in an agriculture, agribusiness, or ag vocation program at a 2-year or 4-year program of study at an accredited junior college, college or university.

Applicants must be members or dependents of a member of the National Corn Growers Association. Employees and the families of employees of any division of BASF or their subsidiaries are not eligible for the scholarship.

for college juniors and seniors who plan to pursue a career in swine production management or a related field, or will be seeking to attend graduate school and major in a discipline with an emphasis on swine. For a student in the College of Agriculture concentrating in studies in sustainable agriculture.  

For sophomore, junior or senior students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who are residents of Iowa, with preference given to residents in the western half of the state.  First preference to those with demonstrated leadership; second preference to students majoring in ag business. 

For a student enrolled in a major in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at ISU with demonstrated financial need, graduated from a U.S. high school, with a GPA of 2.5 or higher from former year in college.

The Minnesota Crop Production Retailers award the Craig Sallstrom Memorial Scholarship to second, third and fourth year college students from Minnesota with a major involving crop production. Additional information including application instructions can be found at https://mcpr-cca.org/.
